I have to say right at the outset that I have no self-discipline at all. I guess my family always indulged me when I was a kid, and my mother would eat chocolates all day long, so I suppose I picked up the habit from her. The problem is that my mother was one of those women who could eat anything and not gain a pound. Her weight remained exactly the same her whole adult life. But I’m completely the opposite kind. I only have to smell food and on go another couple of pounds. So when I had a heart attack, fortunately very slight, at the age of forty, nobody was very surprised. Read more »
